What You Should Know About System Development Projects
Is your FAM System due for an upgrade or overhaul? Are you unsure about how to work with vendors or even where to begin? If so, you may benefit from TG’s teleconference on System Development Projects. The one-hour session is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, March 13, 2003. The event is free and open to any financial aid professional.
This session will entail a high-level review of the system development project phases. Also included will be a review of primary project controls that will include examples of key documentation used, timelines and techniques for accessing/gathering information to validate project performance. Other information will include lessons learned/best practices from a variety of system development projects and reference materials.
About the Presenter
Phil Flora, session presenter, is the vice president/director - internal audit at TG, a not-for-profit, public corporation. He has been employed by TG since October 1989 and has been the director - internal audit since October 1994. Prior to working with TG, his experience included banking, public accounting and cost accounting. He also has over 20 years of auditing/management experience, including the following certifications: CIA, CISA, CFE, and CCSA.
Phil recently became a qualified instructor for “Practical Software and Systems Measurement (PSM): A Foundation for Objective Project Management.” PSM is an issues-driven, flexible measurement process for system and software measurement. In addition, during the past two years he has led training sessions and made presentations regarding systems development including the following sessions, among others:
