Deferment Forms
A deferment is a temporary postponement of a borrower's student loan repayment. A borrower is entitled to defer his or her student loan payments if the borrower meets certain eligibility criteria and requests a deferment. For more information on deferments and their eligibility criteria, visit TG Online's Introduction to Deferments.
A borrower must submit a deferment request directly to his or her lender. To apply for a deferment, a borrower should download the appropriate form, complete and sign it, and mail the form to his or her loan holder. (The forms should not be mailed to TG — that will only delay the process.) Remember that each deferment request must be approved before a borrower's loan payments will be postponed. A borrower should check with his or her lender or the company that services his or her loan for more information.
