Areas of Focus

The Center will carry out its mission concentrating on four core components:

• Advocacy: Strengthen the understanding of financial aid policies and practices of community colleges among policymakers and other constituents, and increase their support for improved policies and resources.
• Research: Conduct research and offer scholarly articles regarding financial aid and its impact on student enrollment, retention, and graduation.
• Professional Development: Offer professional development programs to enhance financial aid compliance with policy and regulatory requirements to improve operations and best practices among community colleges
• Clearinghouse: Create a web-based repository for information relevant to the financial aid profession at two-year colleges, to include legislative measures, research studies, reports, surveys, journals, and news articles.
