Center for Financial Aid Policy in Community Colleges
Since the inception of America's first public two-year college in 1901, Joliet Junior College, community colleges have served as gateways to postsecondary education for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged students each year. Today, community colleges educate more than half the nation's undergraduates, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college. These students are highly dependent on financial aid to participate in postsecondary education.
TG has established the Center for Financial Aid Policy in Community Colleges to raise awareness among state and national policymakers about effective financial aid policies and practices for community colleges and their students.
