Forbearance
If you notify your lender that you have become totally and permanently disabled, the lender may, but is not required to, grant you a forbearance, not to exceed 60 days, until you provide your lender with certification of your total and permanent disability. This forbearance allows you to temporarily suspend payments on your loan(s) while you are completing the discharge application and collecting supporting documentation and certifications.
